Preschool – Day 10

Circle Time:

  • Sing “If You’re Happy and You Know It”
  • Practice identifying different body parts and their functions
  • Discuss the importance of exercise and physical activity

Language Arts:

  • Read “The Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss
  • Discuss the story and the different rhyming words used
  • Practice identifying and writing the letter “F”

Math:

  • Introduce the concept of patterns and how they repeat
  • Use pattern blocks and other manipulatives to create and identify different patterns
  • Practice counting to 100 as a group

Social Studies:

  • Talk about different holidays and their traditions (e.g. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa)
  • Read “The Story of Ruby Bridges” by Robert Coles
  • Discuss the importance of treating everyone with kindness and respect

Science:

  • Introduce the concept of magnets and how they attract or repel certain objects
  • Conduct simple experiments to explore magnetism (e.g. using magnets to pick up different objects)
  • Discuss how magnets are used in our daily lives

Art:

  • Use markers and construction paper to create paper chains
  • Discuss the different colors and patterns used in the artwork
  • Display the paper chains in the classroom for the week
