Preschool – Day 11

Circle Time:

  • Sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes”
  • Practice identifying different emotions and how to express them
  • Discuss the importance of being kind to others

Language Arts:

  • Read “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle
  • Discuss the story and the different foods the caterpillar eats
  • Practice identifying and writing the letter “G”

Math:

  • Introduce the concept of addition and subtraction with manipulatives (e.g. counting bears, blocks)
  • Practice adding and subtracting small numbers as a group
  • Practice counting to 110 as a group

Social Studies:

  • Talk about different jobs and their roles in society
  • Read “Whose Hat is This?” by Sharon Katz Cooper
  • Discuss the different jobs and hats featured in the book

Science:

  • Introduce the concept of weather and the different types of weather (e.g. sunny, rainy, snowy)
  • Conduct simple experiments to explore weather (e.g. using ice to create snow, using a spray bottle to simulate rain)
  • Discuss how different types of weather affect our daily lives

Art:

  • Use crayons and paper to create rubbings of different textures (e.g. leaves, bark)
  • Discuss the different textures and patterns found in nature
  • Display the rubbings in the classroom for the week
