Preschool – Day 26

Circle Time:

  • Sing “The Wheels on the Bus”
  • Practice identifying and naming different animals
  • Play a game of “Animal Charades”

Language Arts:

  • Read “Corduroy” by Don Freeman
  • Discuss the story and the importance of kindness and friendship
  • Practice identifying and writing the letter “V”

Math:

  • Introduce the concept of patterns and the different types of patterns (e.g. color, shape, number)
  • Use manipulatives and other materials to create and extend patterns
  • Practice counting to 260 as a group

Social Studies:

  • Talk about the concept of community and the different types of communities (e.g. neighborhoods, schools, towns)
  • Use a map or a globe to identify different parts of the world and the communities within them
  • Discuss the importance of being a good member of the community and helping others

Science:

  • Introduce the concept of the water cycle and the different stages (e.g. evaporation, condensation, precipitation)
  • Conduct simple experiments to explore the water cycle (e.g. observe the changes in a pot of boiling water, make a cloud in a jar)
  • Discuss the importance of understanding the water cycle and how it affects our daily lives

Art:

  • Use a variety of materials (e.g. paint, markers, crayons) to create a mural about the different seasons
  • Encourage children to use their creativity and imagination to represent the different seasons in their artwork
  • Display the mural in the classroom for the week
