Preschool – Day 28

Circle Time:

  • Sing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”
  • Practice identifying and naming different shapes
  • Play a game of “Shape Bingo”

Language Arts:

  • Read “Green Eggs and Ham” by Dr. Seuss
  • Discuss the story and the importance of trying new things
  • Practice identifying and writing the letter “X”

Math:

  • Introduce the concept of measurement and the different units of measurement (e.g. inches, feet, centimeters, meters)
  • Use rulers and other measuring tools to practice measuring objects around the classroom
  • Practice counting to 280 as a group

Social Studies:

  • Talk about the concept of holidays and the different holidays celebrated around the world
  • Use pictures or videos to learn about different holiday traditions (e.g. Christmas, Hanukkah, Eid al-Fitr)
  • Discuss the importance of respecting and learning about different cultural traditions

Science:

  • Introduce the concept of the weather and the different types of weather (e.g. sunny, rainy, snowy)
  • Conduct simple experiments to explore the different types of weather (e.g. use a thermometer to measure the temperature, create a tornado in a bottle)
  • Discuss the importance of understanding the weather and how it affects our daily lives

Art:

  • Use a variety of materials (e.g. construction paper, scissors, glue) to create a collage of different weather patterns
  • Encourage children to use their creativity and imagination to design their own weather patterns
  • Display the weather collages in the classroom for the week
