Preschool – Day 37

Circle Time:

  • Sing “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”
  • Play a game of “Duck, Duck, Goose”
  • Practice identifying shapes by showing flashcards and having children name the shape

Language Arts:

  • Read “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle
  • Practice identifying and writing the letter “W”
  • Have children practice their name-writing skills by tracing and copying their name

Math:

  • Introduce the concept of patterns by creating patterns with objects in the classroom
  • Have children continue the pattern and create their own patterns using different materials
  • Play a game of “Pattern Bingo” where children match patterns on their bingo cards

Social Studies:

  • Discuss different types of families and the importance of families
  • Have children draw or create a craft representing their own family
  • Display the family crafts in the classroom for the week

Science:

  • Introduce the concept of weather and the different types of weather
  • Use pictures or videos to show examples of different types of weather
  • Have children create a weather chart for the week, using pictures or symbols to represent each type of weather

Art:

  • Use play dough to create different shapes and objects
  • Provide children with different tools to create patterns and textures on their playdough creations
  • Display the playdough creations in the classroom for the week.
