Spanish greetings and introductions.

¡Hola! – Hello! This is the most common greeting in Spanish, and can be used at any time of day.

Buenos días – Good morning This is used to greet someone in the morning, typically until noon.

Buenas tardes – Good afternoon This is used to greet someone in the afternoon, typically from noon until sunset.

Buenas noches – Good evening / Good night This is used to greet someone in the evening or at night.

¿Cómo estás? – How are you? This is a common way to ask how someone is doing. You can respond with “bien” (good) or “mal” (bad).

Mucho gusto – Nice to meet you This is a common phrase used when meeting someone for the first time.

Soy X – I am X This is a simple way to introduce yourself, where “X” is your name.

¿Y tú? – And you? This is a common response after someone asks you a question. It can also be used to ask someone how they are doing.

Adiós – Goodbye This is a common way to say goodbye. It can also be combined with “hasta luego” (see you later) or “hasta mañana” (see you tomorrow).
